Faith Heritage Sunday School
The Faith Heritage Sunday School Department began during weekday nights in the 1410 Bartlett Road Building, Faith Heritage's first church building. Eventually, Sunday School was held each Sunday morning. Our motto at the time was “Sunday School; Power for Living”. During recent years the Lord gave a mission for the Sunday School Department through our first superintendent, “Mr. Sunday School”, Elder L. V. Stovall. Eld. Stovall presented the first annual Sunday School Kickoff in 2002. The motto was “Building a Bigger and Better Sunday School”. The week long event would be a platform for presenters to share education to our existing classes. The men dealt with leadership, the women, related issues and the youths, issues related to anti-drugs, sexual abstinence and society. In addition to speakers our annual picnic is held at Shelby Farms Park the Saturday before the climax of the Kickoff. The event brings many people together to celebrate and focus on the importance of Sunday School while enjoying games, food, fun and prizes.
After the death of Elder Stovall in February 2003, his legacy continued through the current Superintendent, Min. Morris Jefferson and the dedicated Sunday School workers. A Bigger and Better Sunday School, Promoting Power for Life through Studying the Word of God and 2004's “Rise Up and Build” have initiated the advancement and growth of our Sunday School over the past three years.
During the time of the Sunday School Kickoff enrollment for Sunday School greatly escalated and continues to grow. We are pleased at the accomplishments of our Sunday School and look forward with anticipation to the great things to come. We welcome you to visit with us each and every Sunday morning at 9:30 AM . |
