Our church, Faith Heritage Church of God in Christ, derived from the heart of God many years ago. God predestined this great ministry before we were conceived. (Jeremiah 1:5) It was only God that fashioned this ministry and the people that would work in it. He knew of this family before the family members were born.

Pastor James T. Jones, Jr. was given the name Faith Heritage COGIC summarizing Isaiah 54:17. He diligently sought the Lord and obtained approval to leave his former church, Greater Beulahland COGIC, and began prayer in his home. God ordained this time for Pastor Jones and knew that he was ready to begin a new chapter of ministry, a ministry of his own through faith. (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8)

Pastor Jones began having prayer in the living room of his home in Cordova , Tennessee . Quickly the room was filled and a building was needed. Faith Heritage COGIC moved to a small business community on Bartlett Road . (1410) The ministry prospered and many souls were being saved. The Lord told Pastor Jones that once he filled this building He would make another way for him. After only two years on Bartlett Road , Faith Heritage COGIC was once again seeking God to fill the need to house the growing number of souls that God added to the ministry.

Pastor Jones was led by God to3802 Gragg Avenue , where we are located today. Circumstances would lead us to intensify our faith and believe God for the miracle that He had promised us. God made and is continually making provisions for his people because of our obedience and dedication to Him. The members of the small church gathered together and went to visit the new home on Gragg Avenue . The building seemed so large at the time. On Easter Morning in April of 1998, Faith Heritage had their first service in the new building. We are pleased that God saw and met our need and is continuing to meet our needs both spiritual and naturally through our pastor.

In just a few short years “many ministries” began to be the motto for Faith Heritage COGIC. God began to add on ministries within this ministry that were a help to the members and the community. Educational programs blossomed, outreach ministries began to reach beyond the walls into the communities and hearts of those that did not know Christ. An educational ministry was developed with prayer being the leading ministry. God is increasingly adding to the Faith Heritage COGIC and meeting the needs of people collectively, by the leading of God through the teaching ministry of Pastor Jones.
